Before we can set out on the road to success, we have to know where we are going, and before we can know that we must determine where we have been in the past.
Pres. John F. Kennedy (The American Indian, 1961)

Historical research has been a passion of mine for a very long time and this website is designed to share that passion with you and how it effects everything we do. Past generations have all been part of historical events (directly and indirectly), just as you are part of historical events today ~
  • 9/11
  • the Iraq War
  • presidential elections
  • the rising gas prices
  • Katrina

When today's history is discussed in future classrooms or by future historians, we will all be a part of that history.

History, we can confidently assert, is useful in the sense that art and music, poetry and flowers, religion and philosophy are useful. Without it -- as with these -- life would be poorer and meaner; without it we should be denied some of those intellectual and moral experiences which give meaning and richness to life. Surely it is no accident that the study of history has been the solace of many of the noblest minds of every generation. Henry Steele Commager

Without passion there might be no errors, but without passion there would certainly be no history.

I live in Pennsylvania. The state is full of history, like many other states throughout the United States. I have traveled to many of those states in need of answers to topics I am researching and writing about. The most intensive research I have done is on the Bosler family. I have info on that research here.

If there is something you are interested in learning about or if you have a project that needs researched and your time is limited, please email me and I would be glad to help. Basic research is no problem, however, if the research is a little more involved there may be a fee.

I also do genealogy research. Email me the name of the person you are interested in learning about and I will get back to you with what I have learned and see if you would like further research done.

My research involves using primary & secondary sources such as:

  • old newspapers
  • census & tax record
  • military records
  • marriage records
  • birth certificates
  • baptismal certificates
  • death certificates
  • travel if necessary

I really enjoy bringing family histories together. I firmly believe that learning about our own family history helps us to better understand who we are.

Here is a quote by Alex Haley ~

In every conceivable manner, the family is link to
our past, bridge to our future.

This Day in History

Yesterday is History
Emily Dickinson
Yesterday is History,
'Tis so far away --
Yesterday is Poetry --
'Tis Philosophy --

Yesterday is mystery --
Where it is Today
While we shrewdly speculate
Flutter both away

Professor Johnston often said that if you didn't know history, you didn't know anything.  You were a leaf that didn't know it was part of a tree.  ~Michael Crichton, Timeline

A mere compilation of facts presents only the skeleton of History; we do but little for her if we cannot invest her with life, clothe her in the habiliments of her day, and enable her to call forth the sympathies of succeeding generations.
